PORTRAIT DRAWING AND PAINTING CLASSES

I will be instructing classes at the Loudoun Academy of the Arts. All classes held at the Academy unless otherwise noted.

PORTRAIT PAINTING : Thursdays 9:00a.m.-11:30p.m.(Beginners) and 12:00p.m.-2:30p.m.(Advanced)

PORTRAIT DRAWING : Wednesdays 7-9:30p.m.

PORTRAIT DRAWING COURSE DESCRIPTION

This class will benefit students who wish to move on to portrait painting and others who want to refresh their drawing skills to apply them to their portrait work. Several different techniques will be covered, from simple contour to complete modeling of the head using charcoal and pencil. Emphasis will be placed on likeness, value and composition. All drawing will be completed from a live model. I will demonstrate several different techniques during this course.

PORTRAIT PAINTING COURSE DESCRIPTION

This class will be for both beginning and advanced students. This course will teach you to achieve a finished look using single decisive brushstrokes, with minimal reworking. I will be teaching the methods of sight-size painting with emphasis on likeness, value intensity, color and composition. All painting will be completed from a live model. I will do several demonstrations during this course.
